Tour Diary LA: we played for 1000’s of insane kids in freezing cold weather yesterday in Snook TX. Gotta nice business class room at the Hilton,(my 2nd home), & crashed hard at 9:30. Was bak at the airport at 7:45 this morning. Will go straight from airport to Hilton in LA & crash hard again. Excited to see all my friends who are coming out in LA tonite. I’m one of those people who loves Los Angeles & my connections to the city seem to grow each passing year. Signing w/ Andy Somers & Hollywood Records as a kid, lots of film work & soundtrack work, years of recording sessions w/ all walks of musical genres at every recording studio in town from Capitol to Oceanway to Sound City, editing Zombex in Burbank, best friend/actor Lew Temple there forever, extended family from Brentwood to the Valley, playing w/ X & John Doe, and last but not least the countless nights of prowling Hollywood bars w/ some of the most infamous pirates that only LA could produce. Randy Newman was right when he sang “I love LA”. Besides what would these cities be if they didn’t have southerners & Texans to come in & stir up the local color? Imagine how bland the book publishing world alone in NYC would be without us well read hillbillies? Ok, lotta great bands on this bill tonite. We’re on at the Echo 8pm sharp.
