TOUR DIARY TUCSON AZ-COLLEGE STATION TX-LOS ANGELES CA: ok, I’m doing this west coast turn around in 24 hrs. The art of travel is a strange bird. Alcohol, sh*tty food & sleep deprivation are not my friend & it’s been decades since I used any of “Mothers Little Helpers” to keep me up or put me down. Got to the airport at 5:20 am after getting off stage, well, let’s just say there was only time for a few hours of siesta. I’ve had 3 bottles of water in the last hour & a 1/2. Sinus infections are paramount in the desert, so I didn’t get dehydrated & drink booze last night. Will catch some sleep on the plane. Spent an extra 40$ to bump my seat up for more leg room. Short money. Would’ve spent that at a bar. Tucson remains my fav AZ city. Now onto Chili Fest playing guitar at a huge show w/ Ryan Bingham. As Joe Walsh once said “sometimes just being the guitar player is the best spot in the band”. My mantra today is “take it easy, don’t worry about things I can’t control & rest every chance you get”. People say to me all the time “I don’t know how you do it?” Well, for me, being constantly domesticated & being on the same exact schedule week after week makes me beg the same question to them. Ok, time to crash. Tomorrow night we’re on 8pm sharp in LA.
